Terms of Service.
Plain language. Current as of April 2026. Using Seen means you agree to these.
Who Seen is for.
Seen is a private, invite-only community for practicing Catholics aged 18 to 32. Membership is at Seen’s sole discretion, granted through a written application reviewed by a human. We reserve the right to accept, decline, or remove any applicant or member.
Your account.
You must be at least 18 to apply. Provide honest information. Don’t impersonate anyone. Don’t share your login. If you suspect unauthorized access, email us immediately at hello@seenapp.place.
Conduct.
Seen holds every member to the community standards: attendance integrity at events you RSVP for, decorum when gathered, no cold contact outside the platform, and honesty in what you share. Violation can lead to warning, suspension, or removal. We enforce quietly; we don’t publish strikes.
Content you post.
Seen is not a public feed. You post only to contexts where posting is allowed: afterward threads, cohort threads, event group tables, and your own profile. You own what you write. By posting, you grant Seen a non-exclusive license to display your content to the other members authorized to see it. We do not sell, syndicate, or share your posts with third parties.
Discerning Mode.
Discerning Mode is optional. Signals are invisible to anyone except you until both members mutually mark each other. Turning on Discerning Mode doesn’t create a contract, a match, or a promise. Seen is not a dating service. We take no responsibility for outcomes between members who meet through the platform.
Events.
Events you attend through Seen are gatherings organized by Seen, its hosts, and its Shepherds. You’re responsible for your own conduct, transportation, and safety. Seen doesn’t warrant any specific outcome from any event. Follow the instructions of the host and the venue. Don’t show up to a Discerning Mode event if you haven’t turned it on; don’t bring guests to events where guests aren’t allowed.
Privacy.
Read our privacy policy at /privacy for the specifics. Short version: we collect the minimum needed to operate the community, never sell your data, and never share it with advertisers. Screenshot prevention on iOS is not foolproof; act with the assumption that anything you post may be seen by the authorized audience for that context.
Payments.
The beta is free. When paid membership exists, it will flow through Apple’s In-App Purchase on iOS. We don’t store payment information ourselves.
Intellectual property.
The Seen name, logo, copy, and design are the property of Seen. You may not copy, rebrand, or resell them. Content within the platform (homilies, readings, partnered resources) belongs to its creators; access is for personal, non-commercial use.
Termination.
We can suspend or terminate your membership at any time for violation of the community standards or these terms. You can close your own account at any time by emailing hello@seenapp.place. Termination removes your access and pauses or anonymizes your record, depending on context.
Liability.
Seen is provided as-is. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Seen and its founders are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Your use of the platform, including attendance at events, is at your own risk.
Changes.
We may update these terms as Seen grows. Material changes get announced in-product. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
